Ana Te Pahu

Ana Te Pahu is one of the many caves and cavities on the island, all of which are the result of volcanic activity in the area. Ana Te Pahu means the drum cave, because of its particular sound due to the volcanic formation of its walls. It is also known as the Banana Grotto because of the many trees cultivated at its entrance. The cave is easily visited with a simple flashlight.
